Modern Communication
Which telephony solution suits your way of working?
Telephony is often the first point of contact with your customers. At the same time, it is a central working tool in everyday life. However, the way companies work today has changed significantly.
Many SMEs are working more flexibly than they did a few years ago. Working from home has become a matter of course for many. Employees are on the move. However, customers expect to be able to reach someone directly and not just the answering machine.
We show you the differences between Modern Communication and conventional telephone systems: clearly, comprehensibly and without technical terms.
Why many SMEs are currently dealing with telephony
The question today is no longer whether to communicate, but how.
- Does your telephony solution still fit your way of working?
- Does it support flexible collaboration?
- Or is it primarily designed for fixed workstations in the office?
Two ways of corporate communication
There are basically two approaches today
- Conventional telephone systems
- Modern Communication
Conventional telephone systems
Proven, stable and clearly structured.
Conventional telephone systems with classic switchboards (for example from the manufacturer Mitel) have been in use in many SMEs for years. They are reliable, versatile, clear and still make perfect sense for many companies.
A central system in the office with connected desk telephones is typical. This solution fits well if:
- Employees work mainly in the office
- Jobs are fixed
- Someone in the office can always take calls
- Telephony should be kept deliberately simple
(Extended functions such as connections to CRM systems or accessibility in the home office are possible in principle, but are significantly more complex than with modern communication solutions).
Especially for companies with stable structures and little mobile work, solutions with classic switchboards are still justified.
Modern Communication
More than just telephony
Modern Communication describes a software-based communication solution. The telephone is no longer a single device but a piece of software that can be used on several devices.
- In the office, this can be a desk phone.
- A PC or laptop at the workplace.
- A smartphone on the go.
All devices use the same business number.
In concrete terms, this means that your customers call a single business number. This number rings wherever you are working: in the office, in your home office or on the move (one number concept).
Your private mobile number remains private. You do not have to pass it on or set up forwarding.
It’s easier for your customers: one number is enough.
